The University constantly updates and expands its research programmes and educational content, with particular emphasis on their interdisciplinary character.

Discipline: Computer and information sciences

Few scientific disciplines have developed in recent decades as dynamically and rapidly as computer science. This creates extraordinary opportunities for active and creative young people to influence not only the development of science but also the whole society. Computer science has a significant impact on the development of other branches of knowledge, as well as on the daily life of each of us. The Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Adam Mickiewicz University conducts scientific research in many basic branches of computer science, such as algorithmics, computational complexity, artificial intelligence, computer linguistics, imprecise information processing, natural language processing, data processing and security. Our Faculty is a good place to take up doctoral studies and to start a scientific career in computer science. The Faculty was one of the first university units conducting research in the field of computer science in Poland and for years has been licensed to confer PhD and post-doctoral degrees in this field.
